ESI at Archtober: A talk on designing for the non-traditional canvas, media architecture and placemaking
Posted September 21, 2017
The future of interior design for public spaces lies in the creation of dynamic media that expands the both the architecture it inhabits and the public imagination. In collaboration with the New York School of Interior Design, an ESI Senior Designer will explore the cutting-edge of creating dynamic media for architectural spaces. “Making Places: Designing for the Non-Traditional Media Canvas” is presented as part of Archtober 2017, New York City’s Architecture and Design Month.
What to Expect: Out of the Box Media Architecture Design for Public Spaces
ESI Senior Designer and AV Technologist Michael Schneider will tackle the process of designing and creating content for non-traditional media canvases that are reshaping the future of interior spaces and placemaking.
Moving away from static media installations that are easy for the eye to pass over, Schneider will use ESI Design projects as case studies of media architecture and interactive design that enthralls the public and creates a sense of place. This includes looking at everything from designing a data-centric gathering space for a tech campus from the ground up, to the addition of 8-stories of nature-inspired media elements to an already iconic Denver building.
The event will conclude with a Q&A with Schneider.
