A Graceful and Welcoming Light Sculpture That

Celebrates the Neighborhood's Art Community

An interactive dance of light and color invites the community to engage directly with the building.

The 60-foot sculpture "Murmurations" announces Avocet Tower as a unique destination in Bethesda's Arts and Entertainment District, attracting innovative tenants to an exciting new space. Through interactive kiosks, Murmurations offers passersby a chance to create transformative art. The sculpture's metal frame is enhanced by interactive lights that ebb and flow throughout the day, inspired by the graceful flight of the building's namesake Avocet bird. Visitors can trigger patterns and animations within the piece through interactive "touch tubes" located below the sculpture. Equally striking during the day or at night, it introduces a uniquely modern and artistic design to the Bethesda community, igniting wonder and elevating the building's street presence.
