[VIDEO] Placemaking: Transforming Buildings into Experiences at DSS Europe 2018
Posted June 18, 2018
We live in a world where people expect well-designed spaces that are dynamic, delightful, and relevant. So how do you use design and placemaking to transform a building into an experience?
Innovations, like motion-activated media walls, dynamic media that wraps around columns, lighting that changes with the direction of the sun, and more, are creating excitement and attention for otherwise overlooked environments.
As a part of the 2018 Digital Signage Summit Europe, a conference dedicated to exploring the trends driving the digital signage industry, ESI Design’s Michael Luck Schneider, a Senior Designer and AV Technologist, will present a keynote titled “Transforming Buildings into Experiences and Elevating our Common Spaces.”
What to expect: Placemaking and How to Elevate Common Spaces with Digital Media
Drawing on his technical and creative expertise, Schneider will explore how to navigate both spatial design and digital media content when designing for non-traditional media canvases. His talk will also highlight case studies of ESI’s recent designs in placemaking that have captured the public’s attention and imagination – from Washington, DC’s Terrell Place to eBay’s Silicon Valley campus – revealing how non-traditional digital displays are reshaping the future of design and making places in the process.
