An immersive installation of localized, digital media transforms this corporate lobby environment.
Opportunity: 330 Hudson Street in lower Manhattan is the first-ever project that ESI Design did for Beacon Capital Partners. Beacon challenged ESI to create a new entry experience that would engage the young media-savvy demographic of the neighborhood.
Solution: The resulting design features a band of custom, mixed-resolution LED screens stretching around the space, activating the environment with both pre-produced and generative media.
Visitors see dynamic and shifting media content throughout the day, keeping the space feeling fresh and alive. The media content includes 330 Hudson Street branding, data visualizations of the building’s environmental sustainability / LEED Gold status, live weather data, and imagery that reflects the energy and pace of the streets of Manhattan. The visuals are complemented by ceiling lighting that is synced with the media, creating a fully immersive environment.
Result: The project was two-thirds pre-leased to Pearson Education. Beacon signed additional leases with TripAdvisor and Cadillac, which moved its global headquarters from Detroit to the two top floors of the building and opened a flagship showroom on the ground floor. When Beacon sold the building in 2016, the property was 99% leased.
“The lobby gives a kind of energy that one doesn’t find in virtually any other building in Manhattan.”
