A Monumental Welcome Experience

Celebrates Charter's Vast Network and People

The experience gives employees and visitors an immediate impression of Charter's Spectrum brand, products and services, as well as the scale and capabilities of the network.

"We think this is a great space. It's been a big plus in attracting and retaining talent."

Opportunity: Charter Communications and its Spectrum brand desired a 21st century lobby for their new headquarters in Stamford. Their architect identified an opportunity for a monumental media canvas and retained ESI Design to design and produce the media program for the screens.

Solution: The six media modes are powered by a variety of content types: near-real-time data feeds, rich corporate messaging, the latest product news, and high-quality, pre-produced materials. Each media piece is uniquely produced for the large scale of the bespoke media canvas, including sightlines throughout the lobby, media motion and pacing, and spatial sound design. The experience also includes a directional sound experience composed by award-winning sound designer Jeremy S. Bloom in close collaboration with ESI.

ESI Design built a custom Content Management System (CMS) that allows the various teams at Charter to create new content to broadcast in the lobby quickly, making the media experience a new communication channel for the company.

Beyond the scope of work for media content and programming, ESI Design consulted with the client to bring together internal teams and establish a workflow for content creation, editing, and publishing in the lobby.

Result: Whether an employee or a visitor, those who experience the activation will feel pride in Charter's purpose - to make progress possible, one connection at a time.
