A winning example of

a corporate-community partnership

A bold strategy for community engagement, empowerment and revitalization developed with the community and leveraging PNC Bank's existing partnerships.

This is a winning example of a corporate-community partnership that has yielded great results.

PNC Bank engaged ESI Design to develop an innovative new facility for community engagement and revitalization. Rather than design the center for the community, ESI designed it with the community, leveraging PNC’s existing partnerships with cultural, educational, social, and faith-based organizations to begin the conversation with community members.

ESI designed the community center’s physical environment, software/media systems, and the programs that address the visitors’ interests and concerns. “ESI was unbelievable. We were blown away by their thinking,” said Paul Clark, PNC Regional President, said of working with us on the PNC Fairfax Connection in Cleveland, in a recent interview for InfoComm’s forthcoming financial services trend report.

The PNC Fairfax Connection offers an extensive calendar of workshops centered around technology training, financial empowerment, educational enrichment, and cultural preservation. “We are using technology to create a better human experience,” says Clark, “and bring a community closer together.

The Connection has more than 6,500 members, and in 2016, about 15,000 people visited the facility. Says Clark, “It is a magnet for citizens of the community.”

The effect has been two-fold: The community is now stronger, and PNC is more widely recognized. It is a winning example of a corporate-community partnership that has yielded great results.
